How to Change the Position of the Content Placeholder

This article is for blogs created after 3/18/19.

The post content placeholder is a fixed element that represents where content will be placed in all blog posts. You can change its position on the page in Layout Mode. You can change the content of it in individual posts in Post Mode.

Solution


There are two ways to change the position of the placeholder.

Change Padding Settings:

  1. Select Blog.
  2. Click Edit Layout to open Layout Mode.
  3. Right-click the post placeholder to open the menu.
  4. Select the container: row, column, main row, main column.
  5. The Design Editor menu will open automatically.
  6. Change the spacing settings to set the placeholder on the page.

Add columns and rows:

  1. Select Blog.
  2. Click Edit Layout to open Layout Mode.
  3. Right-click on the row that contains the placeholder to open the context menu.
  4. Choose Add Column or Row: add adjacent, above or below.
  5. Click Done.
Note

You cannot delete, hide on device, or copy and paste the placeholder or the column/row that contains it.

Warning

For changes in Post Mode to be visible, you must republish the post.

For changes in Layout Mode to be visible, you must republish the site.
