How do I add SSL or HTTPS?

HTTPS provides a secure connection that prevents data from being modified or corrupted during transfer. With a secure site, visitors can trust your website is displaying the content that you intended.

Tip

Using a secure connection also benefits your site's SEO ranking.

Solution

After publishing and setting up a custom domain, do the following:

  1. Navigate to Site Settings from within the editor.
  2. Select Site SSL.
  3. Click Generate Certificate to create an SSL certificate. This process may take up to 30 minutes during which an In Progress status appears. After provisioning is complete, the status updates and an approval email is sent to the account owner.
Note

You can ensure your site will always be accessed via SSL by toggling on Force visitors to use secure connection (HTTPS).
