This feature is available on the White Label plan and higher.
Creating a custom email domain allows you to customize the sender address for white label emails sent from the Duda platform such as client invitations, form responses, site comments, statistics, and reset password emails. By default, emails sent from Duda use the sender address no-reply@multiscreensite.com. Customizing your email domain allows your emails to be more recognizable and consistent with your brand.
Connect Custom Email Domain
Setting up a custom email domain requires inserting a domain that you already own in Duda, then connecting the domain by adding new CNAME records in your hosting provider’s DNS settings.
To connect a custom email domain:
From the Dashboard, click White Label.
Click Custom Email Domain.
Click Connect a custom domain.
Enter your domain in the domain field. Optionally, if you want to change the prefix from “noreply”, enter a custom prefix in the prefix field.
Click Next. Once the request is processed, you will see 3 CNAME records.
In a new tab, navigate to your domain host’s DNS settings and create new CNAME records for each of the records that appear in the table. To avoid errors, we recommend you copy and paste the records. For a list of common host providers and links to their support articles about how to add CNAME records, see Specific Domain Host Records.
Once you have added the new CNAME records to your DNS settings, go back to Duda and click Validate.
After clicking Validate, one of the following statuses will appear:
Pending. Your subdomain is still in the process of being verified and connected. This can take up to 72 hours. Until then, your emails will continue to use the default sender address no-reply@multiscreensite.com.
Failed. There was an error verifying or connecting your subdomain. Until the error is resolved, your emails will continue to use the default sender address no-reply@multiscreensite.com.
Verified. Your domain has been successfully verified and connected. Your white label emails will now be sent from your custom domain.
You can return to the Email Domain screen at any time to check on the status of your domain verification. You do not need to click Verify again unless you have made changes to the CNAME records in your DNS settings.
Revert to Default Domain
You can remove your custom email domain and revert to sending emails from the default domain no-reply@multiscreensite.com.
To revert to the default domain:
From the Dashboard, click White Label.
Click Custom Email Domain.
Click Reset to Default.
Click Confirm.
After reverting back to the default domain you do not need to delete the CNAME records you created previously when setting up your white label email domain.
Troubleshoot White Label Email Domain
I received a verification error or a “failed” status.
Visit your DNS settings and check that all CNAME Record "Host" or "Name" and "Value" or "Points To" fields have been copied exactly as you see them on the Custom Domain screen.
Check that there are no other records with the same name as your new CNAME record. CNAME records cannot share the same name.
If you are still having trouble verifying your domain, contact your hosting provider.
What happens if I remove the CNAME records from my DNS after I verified it?
Do not delete the provided DNS records from your domain after the domain has become verified. If you remove any of the CNAME records from your domain provider’s DNS settings without choosing to reset to the default domain in Duda, your white label emails will be sent with a “sent via sendgrid.net” message listed next to your from email address and will be more likely to be flagged as spam by the receiver’s email provider.
