To create a new payment request, you have several options. Complete one of the following:
- From the dashboard, click Client Billing, and then click the Payments tab. Click New Payment Request.
- From the dashboard, click Client Billing, and then click the Products tab. Click New Payment Request.
At the top of the payment request, click the Client list and select a client you want to create a payment request for.
Add Items to Payment Requests
After you have created a new payment request, you can add multiple line items to each invoice.
To add items to a payment request:
- Open the New Payment Request, and click the Select a product list to add an item to the request.
- To add multiple items, click Add Another Product. To remove a product, click the trash icon.
- (Optional) Select a quantity for each item.
- Select a billing frequency (monthly or annually) for the request. You cannot mix recurring items with different billing frequencies.
- (Optional) Select any Automatic actions upon payment. You have the following options:
Site Publish. Select the site to be published upon payment.
Site update (republish). Select the site to republish upon payment.
Keep a site live. Select the site to keep live as long as the subscription is paid. This option is only available for requests that include subscriptions (monthly/annual).

- Click Customize Emails to continue. Alternatively, click Save draft & close. To return to the payment request, click Payments and then click Drafts. Click the payment request row you want to edit or click the three dots (
), and click Edit Payment Request.
Automatic Actions
Automatic actions are actions Duda completes automatically when a payment is made or when a subscription fails. The following automatic actions are currently available:
- Site Publish. The site is automatically published when a client makes a payment, and you start paying Duda’s monthly price for the site.
- Republish. Republish a site automatically when the client makes a payment.
- Keep a Site Live. Can be attached only to payments requests that include a recurring line item (monthly, annually). A published site will be unpublished if the subscription fails to be paid or is canceled. You can set the retry schedule in Stripe.
To add automatic actions to a payment request, select the action when you create the payment request. For more information, see Create Payment Requests.
Customize Emails
Edit the emails your clients receive upon payment or failure to pay. Depending on your Stripe settings, Stripe may also send emails about failed payments. Click from the following emails to edit the details.
When you have finished editing the emails, to send the payment request click Confirm & Start. Alternatively, click Save draft & close. To return to the payment request, click Payments and then click Drafts.

To see dunning emails, you must have a product included in the payment request with a recurring price (monthly or annually).

Send Payment Requests
After you have created a payment request and edited the emails associated with the payment request, to send the payment request click Confirm & Send.
To send a payment request from your drafts:
- From the dashboard, click Clients, and then click Client Billing.
- Click Payments and then click Drafts.
- Next to the payment request you want to send, click the payment request row you want to edit or click the three dots (
) and then click Edit Payment Request.
- At the bottom click Customize Emails and then click Confirm & Send.

To edit payment request details:
- From the dashboard, click Clients, and then click Client Billing.
- In the side panel, click Payments and then select the payment request you want to edit.
Delete Payment Requests
To delete a payment request draft:
- From the dashboard, click Clients, and then click Client Billing.
- In the side panel, click Payments.
- At the top, click Drafts.
- Click the three dots (
) next to the payment request you want to delete, and click Edit Payment Request.
- At the top of the request, click Delete Draft.
