Native Store offers both automatic discounts and coupons to encourage shoppers to spend more money at your store. Automatic discounts are applied automatically to the cart without any action from the shopper, while coupons have a unique code that is manually added by the shopper during checkout.
Available discount type:
-
Amount off. Offer a discount on specific products, categories, or the entire order. See the Amount off section for examples of how this discount type can be used.
“Amount off” discounts allow you to create a discount for a set amount off an order’s subtotal or specific products and categories. If desired, you can require a minimum purchase amount before the discount is applied.
Examples of amount off discount scenarios:
-
Entire order discount. Offer shoppers an order discount of 10% off orders over $100. The 10% discount can only be applied when the shopper’s entire cart has a subtotal* of $100.
-
Category-specific discount. Offer shoppers a category-specific discount for 20% off all products in the “shoe” category when purchasing a minimum of $50 on products within category. The 20% discount can only be applied when the subtotal* of products from the shoe category in the shopper’s cart reaches $50.
-
Product-specific discount. Offer shoppers a 20% discount on select shoes in your store.
*It is important to note that if taxes are configured to be included in the product price, the taxes are included in the cart’s subtotal.

Complete the fields in the Limitations section:
-
Purchase requirements. Select either No requirements or Minimum purchase amount. Note that the minimum purchase amount used to validate a discount depends on the discount target (entire order or select products) and the store’s tax configuration. See details below:
-
Discount target. For order discounts, the minimum purchase amount is based on the entire cart subtotal. For product or category discounts, the minimum purchase amount is based only on eligible discounted products.
-
Tax configuration. If taxes are included in product prices, they are included in the cart’s subtotal and count towards the minimum purchase amount. If taxes are excluded from product price, they do not count towards the minimum purchase amount because they are calculated later and not included in the cart’s subtotal.

-
Maximum discount uses. Optionally, enable Limit the total number of times this discount can be used to limit how many times the discount can be used in total by all customers.
Enable Limit the number of uses per customer to limit how many times the discount can be used by an individual shopper.

Note that combinations are currently only supported for coupon codes and not automatic discounts.

Currently, shoppers can only combine coupon codes and not automatic discounts.
Following is how discounts are calculated when coupons are combined:
-
Combine multiple coupons for the same product. When applying multiple coupons for the same product, amount based discounts are applied first and then percentage based discounts are applied to the reduced price.
-
Combine multiple coupons for the order total. When applying multiple coupons for the order total, amount based discounts are applied first and then percentage based discounts are applied.
-
Combine coupons for specific products and the order total. Product coupons are applied to eligible products first and then order total discounts are applied to the reduced order total.
