AI Tools Overview – Duda Support

Duda offers several AI tools, including the AI Assistant, MCP Server, and Copilot. Following is an overview of the AI tools offered.

AI tool availability is based on your account plan and permissions.

AI Assistant

The AI Assistant leverages Open AI to help you generate content quickly and work more efficiently. Following are the various areas of the editor where you can leverage the AI Assistant.

To use the AI Assistant you need to have AI permissions enabled.

AI Business Profile

Setting the AI Business Profile helps the AI assistant generate unique and valuable content. If you haven't set the profile before accessing the AI assistant, you'll be prompted to do so. Once set, the AI assistant will use the profile regardless of where it's accessed from.

Note

The business name will be auto filled if the business name was set in the Business Info section.
Changing the business name in the AI content assistant will disconnect it from Business Info. Consequently, any changes made to the business name in the Business Info will not reflect in the content assistant.

To access the AI Business Profile:

Click the sparkle icon () in the side panel.
Click Update AI Business Profile.

Use the AI Assistant to generate alt text for site images:

Image Widgets (i.g., Photo Gallery) on canvas.
Blog Post Thumbnail. Refer to the Post SEO Settings.
Image Alt Text Dashboard.

Content Library

Use the AI Assistant to generate text for the following fields in the Content Library:

Business Text. Write New Title and Paragraph for fields, including: About Us, Company Overview, Business Services, and additional optional Label(s).

Text Widgets on Editor Canvas

Use the AI Assistant to generate text in Text widgets:

Write with AI. New title, Title for this text (H1 - H6), Paragraph, Custom Text.
Quick Edits. Improve Writing, Make Shorter, Make Longer, Translate, Change Tone, Fix Spelling & Grammar, Custom Edit.

Native Store

Use the AI Assistant to generate text for the following fields in native store:

Product Catalog. Quick Edits in the Product Description. For more information, see Product Sections and Fields.

Section Creation

MCP Server

Warning

Duda’s MCP can make permanent changes to your Duda sites, including content changes, configuration updates, and account settings. Users remain responsible for verifying AI actions before execution. Our support scope covers the MCP implementation and API functionality, but does not extend to troubleshooting issues within third-party AI platforms or their specific integrations.

Duda's MCP integration uses Duda's Partner API to access and update website content, retrieve and analyze site statistics, automate content creation and updates through natural language requests, and connect Duda's tools with AI workflows in a secure, standardized way.

MCP Server Tools and Features

We are regularly adding new tools to the MCP server. Following are a few examples to help you get started:

Website management	Retrieve details about sites in your account. Publish and unpublish sites.
Content management	View and update content library. Create and update collections and data.
Blog management	View, update, create, publish, and unpublish blog posts
Store management	Access store information, manage products, and order details.
Analytics	Retrieve site statistics and monitor site activities.
User management	Create and manage user accounts, control permissions, and generate SSO links

Duda's MCP Server FAQs

Who has access to use the Duda MCP server?

Only users with the relevant permissions (Account Owner and Staff Admin) on an Agency plan and above. Certain actions are limited to the Custom plan only.

Can I customize which tools are available to AI assistants?

Yes, you do so via the MCP server configuration in your AI assistant. Refer to your assistant’s documentation for instructions. Note that Duda support cannot troubleshoot issues within third-party AI platforms or their specific integrations.

Are there API rate limits?

Duda’s standard API rate limits apply. For users on a trial plan, trial rate limits apply.

Can the MCP Server modify any aspect of my Duda account or sites?

The server can only perform actions on your account and sites that are available through the tools that you have proper permissions for.

What are some tasks I can ask the MCP server to complete?

Create a new client account for John Doe with the email john@example.com
Get me the traffic statistics for examplesite.com for the last 30 days.
Create a new product called Premium Surf Board Wax with a price of $79.99 and write a compelling description for this product.
Write a blog post titled Top Summer Vacation Tips for Families with 3–5 helpful suggestions.
Update the theme colors of my site with a new theme that matches the style of this business.

Copilot

Duda’s AI Copilot is a conversational assistant built right into the platform, designed to help you work faster, smarter, and with less effort. From your account or site dashboard, Copilot helps you create new sites, manage permissions, update the content library, and more; all through a simple chat interface. Copilot is context aware, meaning it understands what you’re looking at and which site you’re talking about. It’s designed to cut down on repetitive tasks and busywork, freeing up your team to focus on strategy, creativity, and delivering top-tier results for clients.
