Quick edits let you change the text, style, and layout of elements directly on the canvas, without writing a prompt. Quick edits don't use AI, so your changes are applied directly to your project and don't use AI credits. For changes quick edits don't cover, ask Copilot. Changes made with Copilot use AI credits.
Note
If you don't see quick edits in your project yet, or some changes still go through Copilot and use AI credits, your project hasn't been updated yet. Updates happen automatically, with no action needed from you.
To open quick edits:
-
In the Vibe workspace for your project, on the View tab, click the Quick edits (pencil) icon in the right side panel.
-
Click an element on the canvas to select it.
The selected element is outlined, and a floating bar appears above it. The Quick edits panel shows the settings available for that element.
Note
Quick edits are unavailable while Copilot is updating your project.
The floating bar above a selected element lets you move, duplicate, or delete the element, or clear its padding. Edit adds the element to the Copilot chat so you can describe a change in a prompt instead. It's the only floating bar action that uses AI.
To select the element that contains the current one, click the element's name above the floating bar.
When you select an image, the Image section appears at the top of the Quick edits panel. In this section, you can edit the image's alt text and use Type to choose how the image fills its space. Some Type options crop the image to fill the space. When that happens, use Position to choose which part of the image stays visible, for example, to keep a person's face from being cut off.
To replace the image, click the image preview to open the Image Picker, then pick an image already in your project, upload a new one, or create one with AI. For a larger view of your project's images, click Full View.
Note
Stock images and the image editor aren't available in Vibe projects.
When you select a form, the Form email notifications section appears in the Quick edits panel. Turn Notify site owner or Auto-reply form submitter on or off for that form. To change an email's subject, sender, or message, click the edit (pencil) icon next to its toggle. For the auto-reply, you can also select Include submission copy to send the visitor a copy of their answers.
To change how the form looks, use the design settings in the same panel, described in Edit Design Settings.
Note
These settings apply only to the selected form. Once you change them, the form no longer uses your default form settings, so later changes to the defaults won't affect it. To change the settings for every form, see Built-In Project Features in Vibe.
Changes aren't saved to your project until you save them. The number of pending changes appears at the bottom of the Quick edits panel.
-
To keep your changes, click Save Changes.
-
To undo all pending changes, click Discard.
If you try to leave with unsaved changes, you're asked whether to discard them. Click Keep Editing to go back.
Warning
If you publish while changes are pending, those changes aren't included in the published project.
