Skills are reusable instructions for tasks you do often, like writing SEO content, adding calls to action or applying your brand. When a request matches a skill, Copilot follows its instructions, so you don't need to repeat them in every prompt.
Skills work in Copilot in the Editor (Editor 2.0) and in Duda Vibe.
Note
Skills aren't used when you generate a site with AI (Generate Site).
There are two types of skills, shown in the Type column of the Skills page:
-
System Default: built-in skills for common tasks. You can turn them on or off and duplicate them, but you can't edit or delete them or change who can use them.
-
Custom: skills you create. You can edit and delete them.
The list of system default skills can change over time. To see the current list, open the Skills page.
The Skills page lists every skill in your account, with its type, where it works (Environment), who can use it (Permission Level) and an On/Off toggle. To find a skill, use the search box or the All Skills and All Environments filters.
To open the Skills page:
-
In the top right corner of the dashboard, click your initials.
-
Click Account.
-
Click AI Tools.
-
Click Skills.
You can also open it from the Copilot chat: click the + icon, click Skills, then click Manage skills.
To add a custom skill:
-
On the Skills page, click New Skill.
-
Enter a Name.
-
In Permission level, choose who can use the skill: Team only (you and your team members) or Team & clients (also your clients when they use Copilot).
-
In Environment, choose where the skill works: Editor 2.0, Vibe or both.
-
In Description, describe when Copilot should use the skill, in up to 1,024 characters.
-
In Instructions, write what Copilot should do when it uses the skill. You can format the instructions with Markdown.
-
Click Save Skill.
You don't need to select a skill for Copilot to use it. When a request matches a skill's description, Copilot uses the skill automatically.
To use a skill yourself, do one of the following in the Copilot chat:
-
Type /, then select the skill.
-
Click the + icon, click Skills, then select the skill.
Note
Changes to a skill apply from the next chat. A chat that's already open keeps using the previous version.
Skills don't use extra AI credits. They're part of your regular Copilot usage. For more information, see AI Credits.
System default skills can't be edited. To use your own version of one:
-
On the Skills page, click the More (···) icon next to the system default skill.
-
Click Duplicate.
-
Click the More (···) icon next to the copy.
-
Click Edit.
-
Make your changes, then click Save Changes.
-
Switch off the On/Off toggle of the original skill, so only your version applies.
Tip
To read a skill's full description and instructions before you duplicate it, click the More (···) icon, then click Preview.
The description decides when Copilot uses a skill. If it's vague, Copilot may use the skill at the wrong time or not at all.
-
Describe the specific requests the skill is for. For example: Use when the user asks to add or update the FAQ section on any page.
-
Write the instructions as clear, numbered steps.
-
Keep each skill to one task. Create separate skills for separate tasks.
-
Review your skills from time to time, and turn off any you no longer need.
