AI credits are the unit Duda uses to measure usage of AI-powered features. Every paid account plan includes a monthly credit allowance at no extra cost, shared across your entire account. When you need more, you can purchase top-up packages at any time or turn on automatic reload to purchase them for you.
Some AI features do not consume credits and remain available regardless of your credit balance.
The following features consume AI credits:
-
Generate Site. AI-generated websites from a prompt.
-
AI credits will only be consumed for this feature after you reach the number of free uses as defined by your account plan.
-
-
Populate Template. AI-populated template content.
-
AI credits will only be consumed for this feature after you reach the number of free uses as defined by your account plan.
-
-
Widget Builder (Site Widgets). AI-generated custom widgets for a specific site.
-
Widget Builder (Account Widgets). AI-generated widgets available for all sites in your account.
-
Vibe. AI web experience builder. See AI credits for Vibe for more information on how credits are used in Vibe.
-
Editor Copilot. AI assistance inside the editor.
Warning
It is important to note that credits are also consumed when AI features are triggered via the API or MCP, not just through the Duda interface directly.
Each published Vibe project that is billed as its own paid subscription (not funded by an included site credit) grants an additional 20 AI credits per month to your account. These credits are added to your account's shared balance for as long as the subscription is active.
Whether a Vibe project uses an included site credit or is billed as its own paid subscription is determined automatically, based on whether an included site credit is available. For more on how this works, see Duda Vibe Overview.
Every account will receive a recurring monthly amount of included credits as part of its account plan. To see how many credits each plan includes, see Duda's pricing page. Credits are shared across the account, meaning all users under the same account draw from the same shared credit balance.
If you need more credits, top-up credits are available as one-time purchases. You can also set up automatic reload to purchase a top-up package whenever your balance gets low. For more information, see Set Up Automatic Reload.
AI usage before August 3, 2026 was not charged.
Note
If your plan is canceled or a billing payment fails, your monthly included credits are revoked. Any unused top-up credits remain available until their expiration date.
The account owner and team members with the Account add-ons & AI credits permission receive an email when 80% of the account’s AI credits are used, again at 95%, and when the balance reaches zero.
If your account reaches zero credits, AI features that consume credits stop working and you are prompted to purchase top-up credits. Only the account owner and team members with the Account add-ons & AI credits permission can purchase top-up credits.
Warning
If any credits from a top-up package have been used, the package is non-refundable. If a package is entirely unused, you may request a refund; the credits will be revoked and the amount returned.
Packages purchased by automatic reload follow the same refund rules as manual top-ups.
Account admins can purchase top up credits by clicking Top Up in the hamburger menu. A popup will appear where you can select the desired top up package, then click Purchase.
To avoid running out of credits, turn on automatic reload. For more information, see Set Up Automatic Reload.
Automatic reload purchases a top-up package for you when your AI credit balance drops to a level you choose, so your AI features keep working. Automatic reload is turned off by default.
Automatic reload settings are on the AI Credit Usage page. To open it, click your initials on the project dashboard and select Billing, then click AI Credit Usage.
The account owner and team members with the Account add-ons & AI credits permission can view and manage automatic reload. Everyone else cannot see the setting. Removing the permission from a team member does not turn off automatic reload.
Note
Automatic reload charges the payment method saved on your account. Team members cannot add or change the payment method.
To turn on automatic reload:
-
On the AI Credit Usage page, in the Automatic reload card, turn on the toggle.
-
In the Reload credits when balance drops to field, set the balance that triggers a reload.
-
From the Choose the top-up package for the reload dropdown, select the package to purchase each time.
-
Under Monthly spend limit, leave No monthly limit selected, or select Auto-reload stops at and enter the most automatic reload can spend per billing cycle. The limit must cover at least one package. The limit is calculated before tax, so your invoice total can be higher than the limit.
-
From the Who should receive automatic reload emails? dropdown, select any team members to notify. If you leave it blank, only the account owner receives the emails.
-
Click Continue.
-
Review the details and click Activate.
To change your settings, on the AI Credit Usage page, click Manage in the Automatic reload card, update the settings, and click Continue. If you raise the monthly spend limit, you confirm the change again before it takes effect.
To turn off automatic reload, on the AI Credit Usage page, turn off the toggle in the Automatic reload card. Automatic reload stops right away.
-
Automatic reload purchases whole packages only.
-
Automatic reload purchases at most one package every 5 minutes. If your balance drops to your chosen level again within 5 minutes of the last reload, the reload is skipped, so no credits are added and nothing is charged. Automatic reload stays on.
-
When your monthly spend limit is reached, automatic reload pauses until your next billing cycle. Your AI features keep working with the credits in your account, and you can still purchase top-up credits manually. Manual purchases do not count toward the limit.
-
If your payment method is declined, no credits are added and nothing is charged. Update your payment method or purchase credits manually.
-
If your plan is canceled or a payment fails, automatic reload is suspended and your settings are kept.
The account owner and any team members you selected receive an email when a reload succeeds, fails, or is skipped, and when the monthly spend limit is reached. Each email links to your automatic reload settings.
You can check your AI credit balance from the hamburger menu on the dashboard and in the editor, or from the Billing area of your account.
To view your AI credit balance from the dashboard or inside the editor, click the hamburger menu in the upper left corner of the screen. At the bottom of the hamburger menu your available monthly and top up credits are displayed.
To view your AI credit balance from the Billing area, click your initials on the project dashboard and select Billing. Your AI credit usage can be viewed on the AI Credit Usage page.
