The Competitor AI Insights section on the Highlights page provides an overview of how often AI generated answers mention your competitors and in what tone.
The following data is displayed per competitor:
-
AI visibility score. The percentage of AI responses that mention the competitor when answering relevant questions. This metric can help you understand your brand’s market position against competitors and identify areas or topics where you can improve your brand presence.
-
Total mentions. Total number of times the competitor was mentioned in an AI answer.
-
Sentiment. On a scale from 0 - 100, sentiment captures the tone used in AI answers when mentioning or describing the competitor. Most sentiment scores fall between 65 - 85, with higher scores indicating more positive language used by AI to describe the competitor’s brand.
You can add up to 10 competitors per site.
To add a competitor:
-
From the Competitor AI insights card, click All competitors. Or, from the site dashboard, click Performance, then click Configurations and select Competitors.
-
Click + Add Competitor.
-
Enter the competitors name and website URL, then click Save.
It takes 3-4 days after the next sync for competitor data to appear in the Competitor AI insights card. The competitor is assigned a color so that you can easily distinguish it from others in the chart.
To edit or delete a competitor, from the site dashboard click Performance > Configurations > Competitors. Hover over the desired competitor and click the Edit or Delete icon.
If you select Edit, you can edit the competitor name and website URL. Deleting a competitor removes their data from all AEO reports.
The AI mentions section provides a glance into where and how your brand is mentioned in AI responses. For each mention, you can view the LLM, the prompt, and the answer. This area also displays prompts and responses where your brand was not mentioned, but ideally should have been. This can help you identify areas where you need to improve your AEO.
